Tucked away behind St Michael’s School in Pembroke is a sweet, shaded little garden for kids of all ages.
Officially called Ġnien Madre Teresa ta’ Kalkutta, the playground seems to have been completed quite recently, based on the tip-top state of play equipment, padded flooring and benches.

The playground
The play equipment is split into three main areas:
- The swings
- The jungle gym for older kids
- The jungle gym for tiny tots
It’s refreshing to see a wheelchair-accessible swing given its own space without being segregated in a corner!
The space
This would be an excellent spot in summer months. The park is north-facing and permanently shaded by overhanging trees. As a result, the space is cool and breezy.
There are plenty of benches throughout the length of the park, and entrances on either side.
