Even with no IKEA store in Malta, we’ve all come across IKEA pieces in Maltese homes. And while everything they stock is super practical, their furniture can also end up looking bland, especially when considering the mass-production element. However, if you’re up for some simple DIY, there are plenty of IKEA Hacks out there to add a personalised WOW factor to your boring IKEA basics.

From storage to display and everything in between, the Kallax shelves are literally used for everything, so we loved this unique take on the cube shelves.

This Doll House is the perfect addition to your little one’s bedroom or playroom and it can be customized to suit any theme they’re into. And guess what – Barbies fit nicely!

This little hack is on point for cuteness, practicality, and fun!

There are plenty of ready made play stores out there, but few actually have the space to store and display food items.

You can put this together with a Hemnes bench and a few Bekvam spice racks. We think it’s genius.

Who doesn’t need storage space? This desk hack offers plenty of it.

From an art station for your toddler to a desk for homework once they start school, this desk option grows with your little one and their changing needs.

Babies need a lot of gear but most of it is only used for a few months. So when we came across this hack for the Singlar changing table we got seriously excited!

It’s time to take your Sniglar out of storage – it’s amazing how a lick of paint and some smart styling can transform even the most boring of pieces!

trofast hackTrofast Toy Storage

Are you even a parent if you don’t own a Trofast?

We’re kidding of course, but the Trofast is slowly becoming a symbol of millennial parenting. It’s possibly the most practical toy storage option on planet earth, but it doesn’t look that nice.

Turns out the units can take a whole new look with some creative placement and pretty paint! We love this low-effort, big impact idea!

Long live the Kallax! There are a million and one ways to transform this simple cube storage, and this entryway storage bench is one which we’re loving.

The baskets are perfect for storing shoes as you come into the house, and for beanies, gloves and scarves in winter. Just add a comfy cushion on top, and you’ve got the perfect place for the kids to get their shoes on during the morning school rush.

We love this idea for storing our kids’ many books. This particular solution is appealing to them and minimal on the upkeep front.

The wallpaper on the inside of the shelves adds to the completeness of the project, and a set of gorgeous legs seriously ups the wow factor!

Yay for book shopping and growing our collection!

We hope you love these hacks as much as we do.
