BonusesGreat views of Malta and plenty of planes to spot.

Hal Farrug Family park is a wonderful sanctuary located on the edge of a residential hamlet within Luqa. The thing I love most about this park is that it is laid to grass throughout, so it’s soft on toddler knees and great for picnics. It also has fab views of Malta, so although it’s sandwiched between a road and a housing estate, it feels like your out in the open space.

The play equipment is varied, from the easy stuff to the more ambitious with some in between for little learners. However the grass and trees were what kept my toddler’s attention the longest, rummaging around for pine cones and playing in the dirt. There are also picnic benches at the far side so you have a place to rest your bones, however there is no café on site, so make sure you take everything you need.

If your little ones are as obsessed with planes as mine is, then being next to the airport means that they’ll spot loads of planes flying overhead. All in all, this fun-packed open space offers more than enough for active kids who need to burn off some energy, whether it be rolling around in the grass or climbing the various jungle gyms dotted around.
